How to Choose a Website Development Company in India
Most businesses pick a website partner on price or a nice portfolio screenshot. Here's what actually predicts whether the project goes well.

Look past the portfolio screenshots
A polished screenshot tells you almost nothing about how a site performs. Open three or four live examples on your phone. Check how fast they load, whether the navigation makes sense, and whether the copy reads like it was written for a real customer or for the agency's own case-study page.
Ask what specifically the agency built versus what came from a template or theme. There's nothing wrong with a well-executed CMS build, but you should know which one you're paying for.
Ask about their process, not just their output
A good process looks roughly the same everywhere: discovery, wireframes, design, development, QA, launch. If an agency can't describe theirs in two sentences, or jumps straight to 'we'll get started this week,' that's a signal scope will drift later.
Ask specifically who you'll be talking to during the project, and whether that's the same person doing the design work. A single point of contact who isn't involved in execution often means slower, lossier communication.
Check for SEO fundamentals before you sign
Ask directly: will the site have clean, semantic HTML, fast load times, and basic technical SEO (titles, meta descriptions, structured data) built in — or is that a separate line item added later? Retrofitting SEO onto a site that wasn't built for it is more expensive than doing it right the first time.
Treat unusually low quotes as a question, not a discount
A quote significantly below the rest of the market usually means one of three things: a template stretched to look custom, no real testing or QA phase, or a plan to make up margin on 'small' post-launch change requests. None of these are automatically dealbreakers — but ask directly which one it is before you sign.
